BASE actively involves a broad range of stakeholders through its participation matrix. This is carried out through participatory workshops, world cafés, scenario workshops and citizen summits.
Project coordinator Dr. Hans Sanderson from Aarhus University presented examples from BASE case studies to an international audience at the launch of the EU initiative Global Climate Change Alliance + on 29 October 2015. By fostering effective dialogue and cooperation on climate change, the GCCA+ helps to ensure that poor developing countries most vulnerable to climate change increase their capacities to adapt to the effects of climate change. Dr. Sanderson detailed the participatory and bottom-up methods applied in the BASE project, highlighting key findings and recommendations to policy makers. His presentation can be downloaded here.
